Union members serve homeless veterans

Orange County workers recently spent the day serving food to homeless veterans and the many organizations that working together to provide critical services to our nation's heroes.

The Sept. 27 Orange County Stand Down event connects homeless vets with the services and medical care they need.

The Orange County Employees Association was one of many organizations that came together to provide critical health care, clothing and services to struggling veterans.

OCEA member Sean Sargeant, a Marine Corps Veteran who works for the County's Probation Department, helps organize the annual event.

OCEA members grilled up a hot dog lunch for the Veterans and are proud to participate each year.

"We’re just thankful for the opportunity to serve those who served us!"
